You cannot switch between offline and "registered" characters (obviously). I'm not sure what you call "online character", so I'll just go with the explanation (I talked about that in another thread, guess it's hard to keep it all together) >But correct me if I'm wrong: with a public game, don't we need the online characters? Sorry, I thought I had found your problem :p But correct me if I'm wrong: with a public game, don't we need the online characters? Hello. I understand your point, but I'm more of a single player, the multiplayers runs I do sometimes are lan ones, simply because I don't like to play with random people. Gurlok: Nah, the both of us used evolve (you have to do that in order make use of the vpn in the first place), what I meantis that I was running the game through galaxy while he didn't (which again, shouldn't be an issue, as we simply wanted to do some lan play). I don't have any experience with virtual lan programs, so I can't really help, but maybe it's having the same evolve problem that sacred 2 did? But that's not the problem you're having, not yet anyway. That's what I thought about the exes, but using the specific one did boost our network performance quite a bit, much less lag and dropped connections.
Really? Mmm.I simply launch the game from gog galaxy, I saw that there are many exes almost for every x86/64 bit and even for windows 10 (which I use), but since there is no launcher which let you choose, I thought that the game would recognize the right combination. The only issues I found so far were with sacred 2 and van helsing FC only with the first one we couldn't see each other much like van helsing FC, but the issue was evolve related, by using tunngle we fixed that (although I really don't like tunngle at all). I don't think the firewall is an issue here, as I can make lan games everytime with no issues at all. As I said right now (by replying to B0SC0) we used evolve to establish the lan game. Gurlok: Usually I'm hosting the game, while he just join. Actually it's what I do (I know, doesn't help as "public game"), but we are irl friends, using skype, having a random player would probably make things really awkward for everyone, we move at our own pace etc. Of course, I not saying you must, you can also use galaxy and make a private session (password). If you use a vpn, you're on your private network, so you don't appear in galaxy (meaning, if everyone uses a vpn, there are tons of private session, whereas, if everyone uses galaxy, there are lots of public game). Currently it's pretty much dead (no games). If everyone uses galaxy, it means more available games, so people can easily find a game and play co-op. Hope it helpedĮDIT: I would recommend using galaxy, simply to make the community a bit "alive" (someone was also complaining about this with grim dawn, no public games). Any differences and you won't be able to join (though you should see each other) Galaxy requires no configuration, while vpn do need some (it did with Hamachi, not sure what, he did it, not me), so, if you're not an experienced user, galaxy might be easier for you.Īlso, be sure to have the same game version.
We are using Hamachi for some other games, works too (didn't try with VH though) I'm regularly playing VH FC with a friend these times with galaxy, no problem so far. Try using both evolve or both galaxy, that should solve it. (again, I'm not expert in this), as far as I understand, vpn like Hamachi create their own internal network, while galaxy is through gog servers (hope I'm not making a mistake here ^_^)Īnyway, to sum up, you were both connected, but you were on 2 different networks, of course you don't see each others o.Õ You said he uses evolve vpn and you use galaxy but.
I'm not very good with those things so someone else might have a better answer, but I think you solved it yourself :).
